How to make your silverware shine easily ?

Updated: Sep 25

After my clients saying so many times that they no longer used their beautiful silverware because they didn’t like to spend hours polishing it, I had to tell you a professional secret.

No, you don’t need to polish until you don’t feel your arm, you don’t need to buy specific products, you don’t need to blacken your fingers and use all your stock of cloth ...

Here is THE technique that cleans your silverware in less than 5 minutes, even with an arm in plaster ( and I’m hardly exaggerating)!

You just need :

- a large heat-resistant glass container

- some aluminium foil

- a good amount of salt

Line the container with aluminum foil and sprinkle the bottom with salt. Pour very hot water and immediately place your silverware. Let the magic works for a minute or two, but don’t forget to open the window during the procedure because it doesn’t smell very good. As soon as your silverware has the desired shine, rinse it with dishwashing liquid to remove any traces of salty water and wipe it with a soft cloth.

That’s it! And you can make a lot of it all at once.

For large objects that do not fit completely in the salt bath, simply turn them every 2 minutes until each part is cleaned. The bath is working as long as the water is warm.

For parts that are really blackened, you may have to "finish" with a Miror type product, but this will require less product and elbow oil than if you had not done the little salty bath beforehand.

If you clean your silverware with this technique, once or twice a year, it will come out impeccable and will not need to be rubbed.

CAUTION: the magic technique does not apply to objects with iron parts. For example, some old table knives have silver handle and iron blade. Salt water may cause the iron part to rust, but there is no problem if the blade is made of stainless steel.

Also pay attention to wooden parts, nacre, ivory ...

Similarly some decorative objects, as candlesticks can have felt under the foot, obviously do not put this part in water.
