Large and pretty round box from the Bilbor confectionery factory in Bregnier - Cordon (Ain - France). In red painted metal with black and silver decoration.
1940s.
For the record: The director of this factory of candies, fruit pastes and chocolate, Mr Billiemaz (also mayor of the city) largely participated in the supply of "holiday camps" during the Second World War, which in reality made it possible to hide many Jewish children. Unfortunately the story did not always end well, with in particular the infamous raffle by the Gestapo of the children of Izieu, ordered by Klaus Barbie.
Dimensions: diameter 15 cm - Height 25 cm
Traces of corrosion and scratches all over the box which gives it its charm of yesteryear (visible in the photos).
Object vintage featuring traces of time.
